WORK IN PROGRESS: updated every time a domestic appliance goes wrong!
How does planned obsolescence sounds like? A collection of recordings of amplified electromagnetic activity, modulations and pulses of household discarded electric and electronic devices. No major overdubs or mixes. This collection is part of the INDUSTRIALDEVOLUTION multimedia series
Started in 2012, ID registers the process of working with sound and images generated exclusively from discarded electric and electronic appliances, collected and later modified in order to generate light emission or sound-making. This image and sound exploratory process includes the use of circuit bending children’s toys, transistor radios, obsolete laboratory equipment, mechanical-modified turntables, discarded projectors and light boxes. The output of the project is of multimedia nature, with these appliances manifestations being registered in video, photographs and sound.
